LaHarpe has lost its police protection, putting its citizens in danger.
Its post office, a government building, has already been broken into. If it doesn’t have protection, it could likely close.
Attracting citizens to build houses here or move here will be all the more difficult without a police officer to offer them protection. Who would want to build in a lawless city?
Knowing we have good law enforcement and a city code officer encourages people to fix up and maintain their homes.
I believe if the LaHarpe councilmen do not arrange to have a police officer, LaHarpe’s population will spiral downward.
