Dear editor,
I was reading about Iola’s old electric park in which it had carnival-type rides, boats and games.
The time seems right to bring that back to Iola. We have an uptick of people visiting the area, either passing through or visiting relatives.
I know there are a lot of logistics involved in bringing such a feature, including funding.
But such a park could bring in revenue for the shops in town and perhaps more people settling in Iola. It also could create more jobs and bring in revenue for Iola.
I miss the days when things were more simple. I also wish that a bowling alley and a roller rink, even if it were on a smaller scale, were back in town.
