Letter to the editor – April 28, 2023

Dear editor,

I read with interest the letter submitted by Dr. and Mrs. Stone. They made a lot of good points.

As I have been a patient that needed transferred on a few occasions, what will happen if that service is terminated is on everyone’s minds.

Apparently no one considered the care of patients that will need to be transferred to other hospitals.

It very well could be a matter of life and death.

I hope you never need a speedy ambulance, because it just won’t happen.

County commissioners could be held accountable because they chose not to stay with Allen County Ambulance.

I feel the people should have had a voice on this. Now they are trying to figure out how to pay for it. They should have figured that out first. Raising taxes and utilities will not help.

A lot of people are leaving town already due to everything being too high.

Sincerely,

Betsy Stephens,

Iola, Kan.
