We have recently moved to this area and were so excited about the opportunities for living in a community that supports our disabled adults.
I was shocked to see that at Easter the egg hunts had an age cutoff!
I am the mother of a 29- year-old who has the mentality of a 6-year-old who was not allowed to join in the egg hunts.
Maybe next year we can include those whose mental age is younger than they are, as well as those with physical disabilities.
Many times in other cities I’ve seen the physically able grab the candy from someone with a physical disability and is taking extra time due to the struggle.
