To the forum:
First thing I want to say is that we have had several occasions to use both the city and county ambulance services during the past five or so years.
We could not have asked for better care than what we received from both those services.
I am questioning the Allen County commissioners in the decisions they make concerning the use of the taxpayers’ money. I also believe that a citizen’s committee would be a good idea.
Why not let the City of Iola take over both service? It would make a lot of sense to me to have people who are trained as paramedics as well as being trained firefighters. I have always felt you can never learn too much.
And wouldn’t this be a good thing for Allen County, to have people who work here also live here?
Also it could free up some funding for things like Allen County Animal Rescue Facility, among other things.
