Letter to the editor — May 7, 2019

Dear editor,

Last Sunday we just had to visit your newest restaurant, which was amazing!

We stopped at G&W on our way back to Chanute. Standing in the checkout line we watched the store manager (I think) do something compassionate and truly unselfish. A girl, maybe in high school or junior college, was struggling to come up with enough money to pay for her purchase. An employee, Kevin, walked over and took out his wallet to make up the difference.

It just left you with a great feeling!

What followed was truly stunning. The young lady just walked away. No sign of appreciation. No “thank you.” Absolutely nothing.

So Iola, you are lucky to have someone like Kevin! And Kevin, here’s a thank you from me.

Carol Hines, D.V.M.

Chanute, Kan.
