Letter to the editor — October 24, 2016

Editor,
Let me understand — you visited with Hope Unlimited, which resulted in your recollection of a sexual incident, 40 years ago — in school, and somehow you relate that to Trump; is that the conclusion you want me to arrive at?
I really wish you would visit our local jail and be able to relate to that. That is where most of your readership believes Hillary and Bill should be.
Trump has been accused of sexual exploits, Hillary has been accused of murders, Bill was impeached, and now some 6’5”, 250 lb. teacher supposedly put his hand down your pants — none of these people have been tried in a court of law but you think that it is your right to select which case should be portrayed as being important because you control your newspaper.
Your editorial staff biases are not appreciated and should be impartial, balanced, and factual instead of reflecting the national news, which abused the First Amendment on a daily basis. There is no question in my mind why your editorials do not reflect or contribute to the ability of your subscribers to know both sides of a story.
Also, did you say “NO” in a loud voice, did you scream, did you slap him, did you kick him in the groin, did you report him to your principal, to your dad, your mom, or did you just let him keep molesting weak, submissive young women? No excuse then or now: is what your editorial should have been about, instead of your political bias!

Larry Walden,
Iola, Kan.
