Funeral services will be held at Kansas City tomorrow for Dave Litwin, founder of an extensive chain of apparel stores that got its start here. He died Sunday in Tucson. He was 75. He immigrated to the United States from Russia when he was 27 and came to Iola early in the century to enter the retail business as a peddler. His opened his first store here in 1909, calling it Star Shoe and Clothing. In a short time he expanded the store and called it Litwins Department Store. His seven children all worked in the store. As they reached adulthood their father established a Litwin store for each of them in other Kansas towns and cities.
