22 — David and Eileen Shannon will be the city grand marshals for the Farm-City Days celebration this weekend. The Shannons operated Shannon’s Hardware In Iola for more than 50 years before selling it in 1977. Maxine and Stanley Dreher, Jr., will be the country grand marshals. Dreher was a Farm Bureau leader when the concept of the Farm-City Days celebration was developed and deserves to be considered one of its founders. They farm about 4,000 acres from their farmstead two miles north of the 54 Drive-in Theater.
