Wilma Bertha Perkins, 92, of Humboldt died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at Windsor Place in Iola. She had been a resident of Humboldt since 1975.
Wilma was born on Nov. 8, 1918, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to Harvey Edwin and Susie Ann (Shaw) Klingensmith. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1936.
On Sept. 27, 1937, she married James Franklin Perkins in Iola. He died on Sept. 3, 2001.
Wilma was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, James Leon and his wife, Ruth, Rose Hill; a daughter, Carolyn M. Mitchell and her husband, Keith, Marion; two grandchildren, Jeff Mitchell, Humboldt, and Sharon Meis and her husband, Larry, Wichita; three great-grandchildren, Todd Anderson, Tyler Mitchell and Anthony Mitchell; a sister, Celah Gipe, Salinas, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifford, Simon, Jess, Harvey Edwin Klingensmith, one unnamed brother and a baby, and sisters, Lola Miracle, Gladys Klingensmith and Merle Creighton.
Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel.
