Warren L. Schmidt, 91, of Olathe, Kan., died Saturday, May 29, 2010.
He was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Chelsea, Miss., to Louis J. and Marie Hawkins Schmidt. He was a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was the former owner-operator of the Shop-Rite Market in Iola and later retired from North Kansas City school district.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; daughters Marie Stultz, Mississippi, and Cathrine Lust and her husband, Larry, Olathe; two grandsons; Jon and Phil; and three great-granddaughters.
Cremation has taken place. Private family services are planned.
