Iola native Wanda Tidd, 91, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Osage Nursing Center in Osage City, after a brief illness.

Wanda was born Oct. 8, 1920, in Iola, the daughter of Noah and Ruby Myrtle Rogers Hodges. She graduated from Iola High School, attended college three years and received a teaching certificate. She was a full-time teacher for six years and a substitute teacher for 19 years.

She married Warren H. Tidd April 28, 1946, in Iola. He died Sept. 29, 1982. She also was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and three brothers.

Wanda was a member of the Osage City United Methodist Church in Osage City.

Survivors include two daughters, Julie Peterson, Vassar, and Joann Barber, Olathe; a son, David Tidd, Lyndon; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Osage City. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery, Lebo. She will lie in state an hour before service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church or the Flint Hills Baptist Church, both in Osage City, in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
