Virgie B. Wolfe, 68, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
He was a 1959 graduate of Elsmore High School.
The Aurora, Mo., native was a longtime resident of Wichita and had lived in Savannah since 1976.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired corporate and test pilot with Gulfstream Aerospace. He was a pilot and past board member of Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and had been a member of Savannah Quarterback Club for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sallie, of Savannah; a daughter, Jennifer McCammon, Savannah; two granddaughters, Perri and Dana McCammon; two sisters, Sheryl Porter, Wichita, and Susie Rodriquis, Fort Worth, Texas; two aunts, Sarah Jane Rankin, Moran Manor, and Viola and her husband, Dick Bradshaw, California; an uncle, Eugene and his wife, Joan Wolfe, Savonburg; and several cousins.
Memorial services were today in Savannah at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home.
