Velma Pearl Barnett, 96, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt.
She was born Jan. 2, 1914, in rural Iola, the daughter of George W. and Ida Ethel (Gedes) Culbertson. She attended Onion Creek School and Iola High School.
She was married to Sam Phillips in 1939. He died in 1958. She married Lee Chicken in 1959. He died in 1976. She married Glen Barnett in 1977. He died in 1981.
She worked as a housekeeper in Iola. She liked to travel and take photographs.
She is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Culbertson, Humboldt, and Vincent Culbertson, Iola.
