Troy Allen Rogers, 41, of Burlington died Sunday morning, March 20, 2011, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington.
He was born May 27, 1969, in Iola, to Danny Leon and Karen Sue (Wynn) Rogers. He spent his childhood in Le Roy and graduated from Le Roy High School in 1987. While in high school he joined the Kansas National Guard and completed boot camp in the summer of 1986. He served with the Kansas National Guard Unit at Iola for 21 years before his retirement as a sergeant. His service included two tours in Iraq. He also was with the National Guard Unit that assisted in Greensburg following a tornado.
In 1993, he and Stephanie Buffum were married and became the parents of a daughter, Kalin Cheyenne Rogers. They were later divorced.
He was employed as a security guard at Wolf Creek Generating Station and later as an emergency medical technician for the Coffey County Ambulance Service. He then joined the Burlington Police Department before becoming a deputy with the Coffey County Sheriff’s Office in July 2002 where he was employed.
On Dec. 31, 2002, he and Susan Elizabeth Radcliffe were married in Burlington.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington and the Kansas Sheriff’s Association.       
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Kalin Rogers, Burlington; his mother, Karen Rogers, Burlington; and two sisters, Donna Luney and her husband, Jim, Le Roy, and Sherri Young and her husband, Dennis, Westphalia.
His father died earlier.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Southern Coffey County High School gymnasium in Le Roy. Burial will be in Crandall Cemetery west of Le Roy.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
