Tom McAdam

Tom McAdam, age 79, of Moran, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.

John Thomas McAdam was born on Jan. 21, 1940 at Colony. Tom was the fifth of six children born to John S. and Mildred (Carnes) McAdam. He grew up in Moran and was a lifelong resident of the Moran area. 

John married Mary Sue Rickerson. Four children were born to this union. They later divorced. On April 19, 1974 Tom married Bonnie Hultz in Colony.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie; two sons, Brian McAdam of Moran, and Fred McAdam of Cedarvale; two daughters, Stephanie McAdam of Cedarvale and Marcy Gray and David Dickey of Ada, Okla.; step-daughter Susanna Thyer and husband, Jeff, of Pittsburg; 10 grandchildren, Caleb Thyer, Casey and wife, Lindsey Thyer, Calvin Thyer, Fred “Gus” McAdam, Jr., Clara Rae McAdam, Mason Gray, Memphis Gray and Madelyn Gray, Nathan McAdam and wife Shannon, Jeremy McAdam and wife, Kim; four great-grandchildren; brother, Bill McAdam and Pat Ensminger of Moran; two sisters, Beverly Franklin and husband, Jack, of Iola, and Carolyn Holloway of Bella Vista, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Moran United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Lone Elm Cemetery, Kincaid. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy. 54, Iola.
