Todd James Lindberg, 45, of rural Erie, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 at his home. His death was not expected.
He was born April 18, 1972, at Chanute, the son of Larry and Joanne (Defenbaugh) Lindberg. He was raised in the Savonburg area and attended school at Erie. After completing high school in 1990 he attended Allen County Community College and graduated with an associates degree in ag science. He began farming in 1992 and also raised cattle.
He was a member of Friends Home Lutheran Church at Savonburg. He was also a member of Erie Lodge No. 76, A.F. & A.M. He had served on the Farm Bureau and R.W.D. No. 2 boards of directors and also the church council. He enjoyed NASCAR, going to Kansas City Royals games, and old cars and trucks.
Survivors include his parents, Larry and Joanne Lindberg, Savonburg; a brother, Troy, and his wife, Melody, Savonburg and their children Tate, Ottawa, and Macy, Savonburg; and his maternal grandmother, Elsie Defenbaugh, Chanute.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Herbert Defenbaugh; and his paternal grandparents, Harry and Maude Lindberg.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday at Friends Home Lutheran Church at Savonburg with Sidney Hose officiating. Masonic Rites will be given by Erie Lodge No. 76, A.F. & A.M. Burial will be in the Swedish Cemetery, held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday evening at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Erie, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday.
