Teresa Blanchard, 52, of Olathe, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary. The family requests that you wear purple clothing in honor of Teresa.

Cremation will follow with no burial.

Teresa was born Tuesday, June 20, 1967 at Parsons, the daughter of Phillip H. and Florence (Short) Blanchard.

She lived in Parsons until her first grade in school and then in Iola, through the first half of her senior year. She later earned her General Education Development degree in 1997 at Washburn State University.

Teresa was united in marriage with Gary Walker. They were later divorced.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Florence Blanchard; grandparents, Goldie Short and Ethel and Charles Blanchard; two infant brothers, Phillip, Jr. and Charles, and sister, Kathy.

Teresa is survived by her sons, Roman Blanchard and Andrew Blanchard; siblings, Ethel Blanchard of Olathe, Elaine Chrissillos and husband Jim of Richmond, Va., Walter Weimer and wife Sherry of Amarillo, Texas, Nancy Kindrick also of Amarillo, Texas, Jerry Weimer and wife Irene of Clarksville, Tenn., and Raymond Weimer of Amarillo, Texas; two grandsons, Xander and Xane; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She worked in Lawrence for the United States government in collections for government contracts.

Teresa loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She enjoyed working with adults and children through Special Olympics and loved being on Facebook to keep in touch with everyone. She had a kind and loving heart.
