Tammy Sue Hughes, 45, of Elsmore died Thursday, March 17, 2011, from injuries in a car accident near Humboldt.
She was born Jan. 2, 1966, in Bremen, Ind., to Charles and Sharon (Denslow) Leckrone. She spent her early years in Simi Valley, Calif. In 1974, her family moved to Savonburg. She graduated from Iola High School in 1985. Following school she lived in Humboldt, Chanute and Arkansas City where she met her husband, John. The couple moved to Colorado for a short period before returning to Arkansas City and then to Thayer. They made their home in Erie in 1998.
On March 17, 1999, she married John Hughes in Parsons. In April 2010, they moved to Elsmore. 
She was a member of Stark Friends Church. She enjoyed her plants and flowers, decorating her home and needlepoint and being with her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her husband of Elsmore; three daughters, Helen Leckrone, Elsmore, Marie Culler, Wichita, and Tiffany Leckrone, Chanute; two grandchildren, Keair Ann Marie French and Scotty Alan Burkholder Jr.; her mother, Sharon Denslow, Savonburg; her father, Charles Leckrone, LaGrange, Ind.; a brother, Chuck Leckrone, Savonburg; two sisters, Sherry Caudill and her husband, James, Olive Hill, Ky., and Kimberly Leckrone, Savonburg; and two nephews, Dustin and Dalton Caudill.
A grandson, Shawn Blevins Jr., died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Stark Friends Church, 206 S. Washington St. Burial will be in the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Savonburg. 
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
