Susie Croley Stroud, 63, of Kansas City died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
She was born March 14, 1947, in Iola to Earl V. and Mildred C. (Seeber) Croley. She grew up in Iola and graduated from Iola High School in 1965.
On Jan. 4, 1967, she married Eugene Stroud. They made their home in Kansas City. She worked at Morris Elementary School for 19 years as a teacher’s aide before retiring in 2006.
She is survived by her husband of the home; a son, Bud and his wife, Kim, Prairie Village; a daughter, Brandey Stroud, Kansas City; her mother, Mildred C. “Midge” Ansell, Iola; a brother, Earl Croley Jr., Iola; four stepsisters, Donna Spillman, Janie Henderson, Vicky Fowler and Mary Sigler; and two grandchildren, Kelsey and Collin.
Her father and a sister, Betty Lou Croley, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola. The Rev. Steve Traw will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
