Sterling Martin Barker, 64, Kincaid, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Prescott Country View. He was born in Iola Sept. 16, 1953, the son of Sterling C. and Bonnie Creason Barker. He graduated from Moran High School in the Class of 1971. He married Coleen Stewart. To this union five children were born. Sterling loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He worked as a dairy farmer and at Gates Rubber to provide for them. He enjoyed fishing, collecting guns and knives, watching westerns and playing with the family. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nikki Barker, on May 13, 2000, his mother, Bonnie, and a sister Cheri. He is survived by two sons, Sterling L. “Buzzy” Barker and Missy and Justin Barker and Marcia; two daughters, Randi Ranes and Scott and Casey Barker and Charlie; his father, Sterling C. Barker; two brothers, John and Mark Barker; and 10 grandchildren, Tyler, Clinton, Casen, Ethan, Holden, Beckett, Jensen, Josh, Olivia and Claire.
A graveside funeral service is at 10 a.m. Friday, at Boulware Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City Chapel.
