Visitation for John Starliper of Savonburg, whose death Tuesday was reported in Wednesday’s Register, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Moran.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elsmore United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Savonburg.
He was born Nov. 20, 1952, in Fort Scott, to Jackie and Mable Louise (Cook) Starliper. He attended schools in the Savonburg area before graduating from Elsmore Grade School. He attended Moran High School.
On May 28, 1972, he married Nancy (Masters) Starliper in Elsmore. He was a farmer and worked in local oil fields. He owned and operated his own well service business in the 1980s. He worked for A and A Well Service until his health no longer allowed in 2010. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He particularly enjoyed going to Branson, Mo., and Silver Dollar City.
He is survived by his wife of the home; a son, Chad and his wife, Sandra, Elsmore; three daughters, Wendy Froelich, Stark, Julie Hays and her husband, Ryan, Walnut, and Megan Starliper, Pittsburg; six grandchildren, Whitney, Logan, Meranda, Chad Alan, Mackenzie, and Rylie; two sisters, Virginia Caler and her husband, Norman, Pittsburg, and Janice Janssen and her husband, David, Savonburg; and his mother-in-law, Betty Masters, Chanute.
His parents and his father-in-law, Dean Masters, died earlier.
