Stanley Dean Tawney, 57, of Iola died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Manor Care in Overland Park.
He was born Oct. 13, 1952, in Iola, to Murry A. and Betty Jo (Robb) Tawney. He grew up in LaHarpe and Iola and graduated from Iola High School in 1971.
He had worked for Haldex Brake Products Corporation in Iola and Nu-Way Industries Inc. in Chanute. He attended First Baptist Church in Chanute.
He is survived by an uncle, John Robb and his wife, Hazel, Humboldt; two aunts, Dorothy Hemphill, Derby, and Roberta Jean, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and a number of cousins.
A brother, Murry L., died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola. The Rev. Rick Qualls will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
