Stanley E. Luedke, 80, Colony, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at his home.
Stanley was born Dec. 2, 1935, at Amsterdam, Mo., one of 10 children born to Charles and Estella (Niswonger) Luedke. The family moved to Colony in 1939, and he graduated from Colony High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960 in Korea. On June 30, 1963, Stanley married Phyllis Church in Lone Elm. They had three children and later divorced. Stanley worked for Santa Fe Railroad for 17 years and always farmed.
He is survived by his special friend, Beth Prock of Colony; three children, Craig Luedke of Hot Springs, Ark., Julie Nichols and husband, Dirk, of Beloit, and Brent Luedke and wife, Angela, of Colony; one sister, Doris Finley of Atwood; four grandchildren, Bryce and Kimberly Nichols, and Kamryn and Trewit Luedke; two step-grandchildren, Britany and Cassidy Sellman; and one step-great grandson, Clayton Drake.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings, Clara Paul, Robert, Kenneth, Wayne, Keith, Norman, Morris and Leslie Luedke.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Colony Cemetery.
