Stacey LeAnn Tate, 49, Moran, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at her home.
Stacey was born March 11, 1964, in Iola, the daughter of Howard L. “Larry” and Lolita (Walls) Johnson. She grew up in Iola and graduated from Iola High School in 1982.
Stacey worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block in Ft. Scott and as a waitress for the Chicken Shack in Bronson. She has made her home in Moran 16 years.
Survivors are companion of 16 years, Leon Wagner; two children, Michael Johnson, Moran, and Morgan Owens, Iola; four step-children, Levi Wagner, Yates Center, Derek Wagner, Osage City, Heather Lawson, Moran, and Ashlee Taylor, Redfield; her mother Lolita Johnson, Iola; four siblings, Brent Johnson, Iola, Jada Johnson, Topeka, Gita Johnson, Iola, and Jill Johnson, Ft. Worth, Texas; and 15 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Howard “Larry” Johnson and brother LaFon Johnson.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Iola.
Memorials may be made to the Stacey L. Tate Memorial Fund and may be left with the funeral home.
