Shanna L. (Stahl) Bruner, 44, of Neosho Falls, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Hospice House in Hutchinson.
She was born April 21, 1967 at Fort Yates, N.D. In the fall of 1969, she came to live with her sister Lisa and parents William Joseph and Mikell Diane (McGhee) Stahl. The family made their home west of Colony in the Northcott area. She graduated from Le Roy High School in 1985 and married Douglas Tressler. They had two sons, Grayden Benjamin and William Joseph, and later divorced.
In fall of 1994, Shanna married Jay Bruner and they made their home at Neosho Falls. They had three children, Alyssa L., Michael J. and Karyssa L. Bruner.
Shanna worked for Tri-Valley Developmental Services before becoming a paraprofessional and bus driver for Yates Center High School. She enjoyed camping and fishing and was devoted to her children’s school activities.
She grew up attending the Northcott Church and attended the Neosho Falls United Methodist Church while living there.
She is survived by her five children and Ben’s fiancee, Kathleen; her father, William J. Stahl of rural Colony; three siblings, Lisa D. Sherwood and husband, Wesley, of Colony, Michelle Lash and husband, Mike, of Wichita, and Justin Stahl of Pittsburg; a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mikell Diane Stahl, as well as Granny McGhee.
The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Northcott Church with services starting at 11 o’clock. Burial will be in Logue Cemetery west of Le Roy. Memorials may be made to the Shanna Bruner Memorial Fund and left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
