Ruth Utley

Ruth Arlene Utley, 72, Humboldt, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, at the Heritage Care Center, Chanute

Ruth was born in Wichita on Sept. 21, 1939, the daughter of James and Ruth (Conner) Audiss (Dalton). She graduated from Iola High School in 1957.

She worked as a housekeeping supervisor for Crossroads Hotel, Iola, for many years, and later worked as an assembler for Tramec of Iola until flooding overtook the plant.

Ruth is survived by her children, Amanda Keller of Chanute, Yolanda Habiger and husband, Troy, Humboldt, and Chad Utley, Humboldt; a brother, Jim Dalton, Wichita; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Bob Audiss, and a sister, Mary Mefford.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iola.

Friends may call Monday from 10 until service time at the funeral home.

Memorials in Ruth’s name may be made to the American Cancer society, and may be left with the funeral home.
