Ruth Adella Schulze Sellman, 97, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Simi Valley Hospital, Simi Valley, Calif. She had been living in Simi Valley with her daughter, Gloria, for several years.
She was born March 30, 1914, in Beatrice, Neb., to Charles and Josephine Swanda Schulze. She moved to rural LaHarpe with her family where she grew up and attended school.
On Oct. 29, 1939, she married Ernest “Bud” Sellman at the Jeddo Church south of LaHarpe in a double wedding with her sister, Luthera and Charles Hatton. She worked many years at H&M Market. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She liked working with her flowers, gardening and baking.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Snyder, Simi Valley; a son, Charles and his wife, Debbie, Iola; six grandsons, Brek Snyder, Simi Valley, Brent Snyder and his wife, Sharmaine, Frisco, Texas, Brook Snyder, Pottsboro, Texas, Darren Sellman, Iola, Jeremy Sellman and his wife, Amber, El Dorado, and Jeff Sellman, Iola; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Luthera Hatton and Vanessa Barns.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
