Russell E. Elliott, 40, of Kansas City died Saturday, May 29, 2010, in a skydiving accident.
He was born Feb. 27, 1970, in Kansas City, to Gerald and Marjorie Elliott. He was a graduate of Sumner Academy and the University of Kansas with a degree in engineering.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger (Barnett) Elliott, formerly of Humboldt, and their first child expected later this summer; his parents, Gerald and Marjorie Elliott, Lenexa; a sister, Diane Elliott, Lenexa, and her children, Lauren and Dakota; Ginger’s family, Larry and Carollyn Barnett, Humboldt, and Cathy Barnett, Kansas City, Mo., and Russ and Tobi Barnett and their children, Sydney and Nicolas, Overland Park; and numerous family members, friends and his extended family in the skydiving community.
His grandparents, Dale and Lois Kendrick and Cecil and Maxine Moore, died earlier.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., in Kansas City.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A private internment will be held at a later date.
