Royalyn Dale Lynes, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, in Eureka.
She was born in Lakin on Dec. 22, 1922. She worked as a nurse at Riverside Hospital in Wichita until her retirement.
She married Cleo Lynes on Dec. 6, 1941. They later divorced.
She is survived by two sons, Dale and his wife, Corky, Moran, and Curtis and his wife, Janet, Piedmont; a daughter, Mary and her husband, Jerry Thornton, Eureka; a brother, Curtis Dale, formerly of Iola; granddaughters, Christy Holesclaw, Boston, Mass., Jenni Wichman, Clayton, Ind., Melisa Odell Luttrell, Clover, S.C., Patty Dore, Holton, Angela Nakrumbi, Michelle Lynes, Natallie Slider and Jamie Lynes, Wichita; grandsons Mike Thornton, El Dorado, and Jerry Odell, Elsmore; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Paxton and Dorothy Jones, a daughter, Betty Suscko, a granddaughter, Brandi Lynes, and a great-granddaughter, Jessica White.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka.
