Roy Francis (Hoss) Barnett, 74, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Neosho Regional Memorial Hospital in Chanute.
He was born on March 7, 1943 at St. John’s Hospital, the son of Francis and Minnie Barnett.
He was graduated from Humboldt High School in 1961. He lived, farmed, and raised cattle southeast of Humboldt. He was a joint owner of the RBJ Cattle Company, and was a member of Young Farmer’s Club. He had many friends and enjoyed spending time with and eating out with them. He loved cattle and was often found at sale barns or listening to cattle auctions on radio or TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Minnie Barnett. Survivors include three brothers, Charles Barnett, Gardner, Larry Barnett and wife Carollyn, Humboldt, and Wayne Barnett and wife Jane, Iola. Extended family survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will greet visitors Friday evening, at Countryside Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 801 N. Cottonwood St., Iola.
