Robert J. Wright, 64, of Iola died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
He was born Feb. 3, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo., to Robert Verdine and Edna Grace (Gabler) Wright. He graduated from Elk Grove High School in California and received a master’s degree in communications and technology.
He served his country for more than 30 years in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and Air Force National Guard. He served in Vietnam, Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
After his retirement from the armed forces, he worked various jobs in technology and worked at Kustom Signals as an electronics technician.
On Nov. 16, 2000, he married Jodie Katherine Perrymeant in Shawnee County.
She survives as do his children, Robert Simpson, Bill Simpson, Misty Luebke, Joshua Wright, Autumn Wright, Jon Wright, Crystal Wright, Amanda Wright, Christian Wright and Teagan Perrymeant; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, Larry.
Military burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Fort Scott National Cemetery.
