Paul J. Haen, 66, Iola, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Paul was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Iola, the son of Ralph and Rose Mary (Heiman) Haen. He grew up in Piqua and joined the U.S. Navy serving in Vietnam. Paul retired from the military in 1984 with 20 years of service and returned to Iola. For the past several years he has worked with Don Hammer on the farm.
On June 24, 1972, Paul married Rita M. Cammarano. His was a member of the Non Commissioned Officer Association.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; two sons, Dominick J. Haen, Jacksonville, Fla. and Paul J. Haen, Jr. and wife Janette, Blue Mound; two daughters, Kathleen McCowin and husband Calvin, Lancaster, Texas, and Elizabeth Hopkins and husband Jeremy, Iola; three brothers, Richard Haen and wife Ruth, St. Louis, Mo., Stephen Haen and wife Patty, Iola, and David Haen and wife Patsy, Iola; one sister, Ruth Menzer, Pratt; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Haen, and a sister, Dorothy Delaplain.
