Opal I. Martin, 96, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt.
She was born in southeast Oklahoma on July 9, 1913, the oldest daughter of 14 children born to Dessie and Walter Manley.
On Nov. 1, 1931, she married William “Bill” P. Martin. They lived and raised their five children in Pawnee County, Okla. In 1936, the couple embraced the gospel of Christ. He died in 1999.
She is survived by her children, Irene Heisler and her husband, Clifford, Humboldt, Anna Lou Beekmann and her husband, Fred, Woodstock, Va., Bill J. Martin and his wife, Marlys, Edmond, Okla., Edna Updegrove and her husband, Donald, Midwest City, Okla., and Ruby Camp and her husband, Frank, Raleigh, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl Manley and Ray Manley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eleven siblings and one great-great-granddaughter died earlier.
Funeral services will be Friday in Oklahoma City, Okla., with burial following in Maramec, Okla.
