Norma Jean Richards, 75, of LaHarpe died Friday, April 22, 2011, at Allen County Hospital in Iola.
She was born Nov. 21, 1935, in St. Clair County, Mo., to Irus Clark and Julia Frances (Tucker) Wisner. She graduated from high school in Lowry, Mo.
She then moved to Gas. She married Kenneth L. Richards, and they made their home in LaHarpe. She worked a number of years for Allen County Livestock Auction along with working for the Day Dairy near Bronson. Her husband died in February of 2004.
She was a member of Moran Christian Church.
She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Minnie and William McCleary, Jeannie and David Newell, Raymond and Beth Brown, Loretta Graham, Audra and Michael Riggins, Barbara Malone and Nancy and Michael Peters; nine stepchildren; 48 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four children and three grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Moran Christian Church. The Rev. Bill LaPorte will officiate.
