Virginia Lee “Nanny” Sandlin, 68, Gas, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
Virginia was born April 13, 1944, at Ft. Myers, Fla., the daughter of Wilbur Vernon and Fleta Mae (Baucom) Gee. She grew up in Florida and lived several years in Venezuela.
On July 14, 1965, Virginia married Dale D. Sandlin in Brownsville, Texas, and they made their home in Iola. She worked for Tramec and later Microtronics before retiring in 2006.
She enjoyed antique shopping and her grandchildren.
Survivors are her husband, Dale; one son, Louis Sandlin and wife, Sherry, Iola; two daughters, Virginia K. Wools and husband, Tim, Iola, and Gina Totman and husband, Jeff, Osage City; one sister-in-law, Kay Croghan and husband, Jack, Iola; seven grandchildren, Ashley Luttrell and husband Chance, Shane Sandlin, Kayla Westerman and husband Matt, Kelci Owens and fiance John Sigg, Karley Wools, Keshia Thompson and husband Kenny and Kyler Umbarger; seven great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Zoey and Liam Luttrell, Anna, Gracie and Karter Westerman and Quintin Thompson; special nieces and nephews, Jennifer Boll, Monica Gee, Jason Gee, Mike Croghan and Angie Ryan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Allen Gee.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
Cremation will follow visitation with inurnment at a later date in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
Memorials may be made to Fees Park in Gas and left with Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
