Nadine Coyner Russell, 90, of Bartlesville, Okla., mother of Chuck Platt and his wife, Emy, of Iola, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Heritage Villa Care Center.
She was born May 1, 1920, in Bartlesville, to Walter Lee and Mattie M. (Kendall) Coyner. A lifelong resident of Bartlesville, she graduated from Central High School and attended one year of junior college at College High.
She was married to Warren Henry Platt in 1939. They were later divorced. She then married John Douglas Russell. He died Feb. 27, 2007.
She taught piano for many years in Bartlesville and one of her former students was Becky Hobbs. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is also survived by another son, Larry Platt and his wife, Phyllis, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Sharon Hainzinger and Linda Kats, both of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and two grandchildren, Rochelle Platt and John Platt.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Damron, and a grandson, David Platt.
In keeping with her wishes, her body was donated to the Oklahoma Anatomical Board for medical research. No services are planned.
