Mildred C. “Midge” Ansell, 82, of Iola died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at her home.
Midge was born Nov. 5, 1929, at Medoc, Mo., the daughter of Hosea and Jessie (Berry) Seeber. She lived in Missouri until moving to Iola in 1946.
On March 26, 1946, Midge married Earl Croley. They made their home in Iola. She worked as a cashier for over 20 years. Mr. Croley died July 7, 1968.
Midge and Victor L. Stout were married on June 1, 1970. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1985. On Oct. 3, 1988, Midge married Earl Ansell. He died October 20, 2002.
She was a member of the Carlyle Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one son, Earl Croley Jr. of Iola; a son-in-law, Eugene Stroud of Kansas City, Kan.; five step-daughters, Mary Sigler, Sharon Keith, Vicky Fowler, Janie Henderson and Donna Spillman; two sisters, Mae Aydelotte of Iola and Ada Maness of Leon; and numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Lou Croley and Carolyn Sue “Susie” Stroud, a daughter-in-law, Cinda Sue Croley, a step-son, John Payne, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, where the family will receive friends prior to the service. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Iola. Memorial gifts to Allen County Hospice may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
