Melvin Dean Smoot, 61, Iola, who founded the Puddle Jumpers, a fishing club for children in the area, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center Emergency Room in Chanute.
A memorial graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at LaHarpe Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life service at the LaHarpe City Hall, 902 S. Washington St.,
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Melvin Smoot Memorial Fund, and may be left at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola.
