Mary M. Phillips, 88, of Kansas City, who has family living in the Iola area, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011.
She was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Urich, Mo., to Joseph Dawson and Cora Belle (Call) Young. She was a member of Overland Park Baptist Temple.
On July 11, 1942, she married Ezra E. Phillips. He is deceased.
Survivors include her children, Fayetta Phillips, William Phillips and his wife, Darlene, Glenda Laver and her husband, Gene, Marla Phillips, Michael Phillips and his wife, Suzy, and James Phillips and his wife, Diane; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Barbara A. Burton, sister, Pauline, and brothers, Wayne, Jim and Lavern Young, died earlier.
Funeral services were Monday at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
