Mary E. German, 96, of Neosho Falls, died Monday, April 11, 2016, at Greystone Residential Care in Iola.
Mary was born Nov. 5, 1919, on a farm 8 miles northeast of Neosho Falls, the daughter of Fred and Bessie (James) Bruner. She graduated from Neosho Falls High School and married Homer S. German on March 22, 1939. They lived in California a number of years before returning to Neosho Falls in 1967. Mr. German preceded her in death Nov. 5, 2007.
Survivors include one son, Wayne German and wife Charlene, Neosho Falls; two daughters, Dorene Kay Jones, Conroe, Texas, and Sherry Jo McCown, Blaine, Wash.; one brother, Richard Bruner, Neosho Falls; 11 grandchildren and a number of great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, James German, her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Helen Brunke and Lois Varvel.
Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be in the Cedarvale Cemetery in Neosho Falls at a later date. Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola assisted the family. To leave a condolence online, go to www.iolafuneral.com.
