Mary (Shebanek) Dunnigan was born Jan. 15, 1931, and entered into heaven on Sunday, March 23, 2025. She was a resident of Fairfield, Calif., and a longtime member of Holy Spirit Church. She was raised in Iola, before moving out west to San Francisco.
She married Houston Dunnigan and they enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage together. They raised their family in San Francisco, and she worked for many years at the QFI Meat Department at Stonestown. She was an active member of the St. Brendan’s Mothers Club and a dedicated parishioner of the church.
She and dad moved to Fairfield, Calif., to retire where they hosted many family events at “The Club” during the warm summers. She loved her family and her grandchildren who called her “Grammy.”
She is survived by her three children, Patty Gerard (Bill) of Half Moon Bay, Peggy Coss (Kevin) of San Anselmo, and Jim Dunnigan (Francine) of Seattle; her seven grandchildren, Danny, Kelly, Lindsay, Allison, Trevor, Megan, and Sara; her eight great-grandchildren, Will, Emma, Jake, Aubriella, Faith, Cole, Weston, and Dru.
She was predeceased by her husband Houston, her parents Charles and Ethel Shebanek, and her seven siblings, Betty, Ruth, John, Esther, Helen, Agnes, and Paul.
Mom was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be forever in our hearts. May God bless her.
Services are at Holy Spirit Church in Fairfield, Calif., 1070 N. Texas St., at 11:30 a.m. April 11.
A celebration of her life will commence, following mass, at the Rancho Solano Golf Club, 3250 Rancho Solano Pkwy., Fairfield, Calif.
