Martha Maxine Garber, 72, of Iola died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola.
She was born May 12, 1937, in Arcadia, the daughter of William B. and Mary Carolina (Crites) Ross. She grew up in Arcadia and attended school there.
She was married to Fred Marsh. They had a son before they divorced. She made her home in a number of communities, including Fort Scott.
On Aug. 25, 1980, she married Clarence L. Garber. They made their home in Iola.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Frederick “Rick” Marsh, Iola; a sister, Esther Robertson, Kansas City, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
Five brothers, Melvin, William, Roy, Francis and Robert Ross, and a sister, Ruth, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola. Inurnment will be in Welda Cemetery at a later date.
