Former Iolan Marjorie Mildred Ellis, 99, Sun City Center, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 12, 2016.
Born in Florence, Kansas, she is predeceased by her husband, former Iola mayor Ben C. Ellis, and sister Esther Nicholson, and is survived by her sons, John M. Ellis of Plantation, Fla., and Robert D. Ellis of Plantation; grandchildren Shellie Ellis Wade and Wendi Ellis Koch; and great-grandchild Cole Ellis Wade.
She was a loving wife and mother, who loved music and playing the piano. As well, she was a member of the Ruskin United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday, with funeral service and burial to follow at Hillsboro (Fla.) Memorial Gardens.
