Margaret F. Karr, 81, of rural Iola died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Moran Manor.
Margaret was born Nov. 27, 1930, on the family farm at Piqua, the daughter of John C. and Mary (Bruggeman) Weber. The family moved from Piqua to a farm northeast of Humboldt where she attended school.
On Nov. 29, 1952, Margaret married Roy C. Karr at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. They made their home on farms near Humboldt until 1968 when they bought their farm southwest of LaHarpe. Mr. Karr preceded her in death on May 5, 2007.
Margaret was known for her baking, especially pies and pumpkin bread. She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her dogs. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola and a social club in her neighborhood.
She is survived by four children, Karen “Susie” Karr, Canton, Ohio, Paul D., Iola, John L. and his wife, Patricia, Humboldt, and Clifford L., LaHarpe; three sisters, Pauline Riebel, Humboldt, Eleanor Riebel, Iola, and her twin, Marjorie Riebel, LaHarpe; two grandchildren, Maggie D. Karr and Dalton R. Karr; and one great-granddaughter, Alexandra.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Dakota Karr, a brother, Leo Weber, and two sisters, Helena Weber and Theresa Riebel.
Parish Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. today at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola, followed by the celebration of a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Moran Cemetery.
