Lucille M. Lang, 76, of Iola died Friday, May 14, 2010, at her home.
She was born Aug. 12, 1933, in Athens in Woodson County, to Albert Douglas and Alice Maude (Ransom) Caler. She grew up in the Iola area and graduated from Iola High School in 1951. She then went to work at the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City.
On April 24, 1953, she married Robert F. “Bob” Lang in Kansas City, Mo. They made their home in Kansas City until moving to Iola in 1960. She worked at Iola State Bank and retired in 1996 from the Piqua State Bank. She did bookkeeping for the family businesses, Lang Motor Company, and later for Lanco Distributor.
She enjoyed collecting phonographs and music boxes.
She is survived by her husband of the home; three children, Gary, Iola, Carol Murray and her husband, Brett, Hays, and David and his wife, Marla, Evans, Ga.; a granddaughter, Alyssa Murray, Hays; and a brother, Albert Caler and his wife, Sandy, Columbus.
A sister, Nadine Hoag, and three brothers, Dewey, Dale and Wayne Caler, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
