LouAnn (Osborn) Thomas, 55, passed away at her home in Olathe on Dec. 20, 2014. She was born on May 29, 1959, in Chanute, the daughter of Edward Lee and June Marie (King) Osborn. She was raised in Humboldt, attending Humboldt High School.
LouAnn was married for a short time and was blessed with her eldest daughter, Sharie Marie. She was later divorced and on Nov. 27, 1982, in Chanute, she re-married her childhood friend, Robert Edward “Ed” Thomas. Shortly after their marriage the couple began their family and had two daughters, Kayla Marie and Cheyanne Marie.
LouAnn’s biggest passion was for her grandchildren; she loved spending all the time with them she could. She was also a talented artist and enjoyed crappie fishing with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Valarie Osborn. She is survived by her husband, of the home in Olathe; her children, Sharie Marie Farley, Tulsa, Okla., Kayla Marie Zamora and husband Antonio Jr., Grain Valley, Mo., and Cheyanne Marie Thomas, Overland Park; a brother, Chet Osborn, Cherokee; sisters Kelly Kaufman, Humboldt, and Darylene Taylor, Lincoln, Neb.; and by six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation is planned. Private memorial services for LouAnn will be Tuesday at Countryside Funeral Home-Humboldt Chapel. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Humboldt Chapel. The family suggests memorials in LouAnn’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
