Lloyd Martin Riebel, 65, Iola, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at Iola Nursing Center.
Lloyd was born Jan. 15, 1950, in Iola, the son of Edward Martin and Eleanor Edith (Weber) Riebel. He grew up in Iola and worked through Tri-Valley at various businesses in the area over the years. Lloyd participated in Special Olympics and won a number of medals. He enjoyed bowling and was a Royals, Chiefs and KU fan. He would closely follow his nieces and nephews in local sporting events.
He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his parents, Edward and Eleanor Riebel, Iola; three brothers, Danny Riebel and wife Marta, Mike Riebel and wife Julie and Stan Riebel and wife Kim, all of Iola; one sister, Pam Wilson and husband Cliff, Overland Park; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sundra Meitler.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Humboldt.
Parish rosary will be recited tonight at 7 o’clock at St. John’s Catholic Church, Iola.
