Linda K. Tinkler, 69, Janesville, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, Dec., 13, 2017. Linda was born Jan. 4, 1948, in Iola, to Kenneth and Mary Louise Stephens. She grew up on a dairy farm in rural Iola. She attended Humboldt schools and Kansas State University. She married Steve Tinkler on Sept. 3, 1967, in Humboldt. They were sealed in the LDS Temple in St. George, Utah, in 1972. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Linda had a kind and gentle spirit. She was an accepting soul and her door was always open. Family was her number one priority.  She was a devoted wife, a supportive mother, and a proud grandmother. She enjoyed card club with friends, and was an excellent cook. She loved playing Words with Friends and had a special affinity for Christmas and times of family being together. Above all, she most looked forward to visits from her kids and grandkids. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her sweetheart and loving caregiver, Steve Tinkler; son Mark (Danielle) Tinkler and their three children, Jordan, Jake and Jazlyn, Peterborough, U.K.; grandchildren Brock and Breanna Tinkler of her late son, Brian Tinkler (and their mother, Belinda Tinkler); son Adam (Bethany) Tinkler and their three children, Gracie, Brody, and Nora, Peru, Ill.; daughter Laura Hess and her two children, Britney and Logan Stuckey, Janesville, Wis.; daughter Sarah Tinkler and family, Denver; and sister and best friend, Jeri Ludlum, Iola. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and son, Brian Tinkler.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3001 N. Wright Rd., Janesville, WI  53546.  Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with burial immediately following in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Janesville.
