Leah Winona Tomson, 87, Iola, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, at Allen County Regional Hospital.
Leah was born May 5, 1932, in Iola to Bithel and Mary (Kramer) Lorance.
Leah attended and graduated from Iola High School in 1950. Leah married Gene Tomson on May 15, 1952, in Huntsville, Ark. They then made their home in Iola. Together Gene and Leah farmed and raised livestock west of Iola.
Leah and Gene enjoyed many years of boating, camping, traveling and watching NASCAR together. They also enjoyed watching their kids rodeo and show their horses. Once a year they enjoyed a yearly trip to Las Vegas with Doris and Junior, to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Leah and Gene always made sure to follow their kids and grandkids activities. Leah was a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola.
Leah was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents; and one sister.
Leah is survived by three children, Jana Bowyer and husband, Chris, Emporia, Marta Edwards and companion, Scott Crystal, Overland Park, and Kent Tomson and wife, Ronda, Iola; five grandchildren, Andy Bowyer, Clint Bowyer, Casey Bowyer, Aaron Edwards and Kylee DePrima, and 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Dickinson.
Funeral services for Leah will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iola. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, in the Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
